Hatchet is a novel for children or adolescents. It tells a story about a thirteen-year-old boy named Brian Robeson. He is on his way to visit his father when the single engine plane in which he is flying crashes. Suddenly, Brian finds himself alone in the Canadian wilderness with nothing but his clothing, a tattered windbreaker, and the hatchet his mother has given him as a present-and the dreadful secret that has been tearing him apart ever since his parents’ divorce. But now Brian has no time for anger, self-pity, or despair-it will take all his know-how and determination, and more courage than he knew he possessed, to survive.
For me, it is not a very interesting book. I think it is because it more intended for boys. It just about a boy who survive in a land alone, he do anything, he tries to get some water, food and place to sleep. It kind of boring for me reading this novel, because I do not find any interesting in surviving in a land as a kid, but over all the wording is simply. It easy to be read and I think it suitable for children.
